About This Sculpture
A hand-carved Annam bird with a fanned, feather-detailed tail, set on a fluted wooden base. Every feather line and the curve of the neck are cut freehand, so the fan of the tail catches light differently on each piece we finish.

Carved from seasoned Rain Wood (Vaagai), a light, even-grained timber that lets our artisans cut fine feather and edge detail without the wood chipping or splitting.
Finished with a clear varnish that seals the wood while leaving the natural honey-gold grain visible; a wax finish can be requested instead for a softer, matte look.
Roughing out the form, detailing the feathers and base, sanding through several grits, and a final coat-and-cure typically takes about 3 weeks from confirmation of your order.
The sculpture on its fitted wooden base, a certificate of authenticity, and protective plywood export packing for transit.
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Keep away from direct sunlight and damp areas, and avoid water or chemical cleaners on the wood.
Because each piece is cut by hand, small variations in the grain and finish from the photos are normal and are part of what makes it one-of-a-kind.
